Modernization of the Year 2010
At the Royal Castle in Warsaw the ceremony was held announcing the results and granting awards for the 15th Jubilee edition of the Modernization of the Year 2010 National Competition. In this competition, in the "Industrial and Engineering Facilities" category, our Office was also awarded. We received the title "Modernization of the Year 2010" and the statuette for the project: Recovery of waste water in terms of water consumption in the manufacturing process in PKE SA Elektrownia Jaworzno III. The award was also given to: the investor - Południowy Koncern Energetyczny SA, Elektrownia Jaworzno III and the contractor - Instal Kraków SA.
More than 800 facilities in 14 categories were submitted to the competition and 106 qualified to the final. The Honorary Patron of the Competition, the Polish President during the Awards Gala was represented by Mr. Olgierd Dziekoński, Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the President of Poland. Mr Piotr Styczeń, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Mr. Jarosław Duda, Government Plenipotentiary for the Disabled, Mr Jacek Dąbrowski, Director of Department of Monuments Protection, Mr. Krzysztof Warecki representing the Ministry of Education, Mr. Paweł Ziemski Deputy Chief Inspector of Construction Inspection, Mr. Roman Jaworski, Deputy Chief Inspector of Environmental Protection honoured the gala with their presence and active participation in the ceremony.
The competition aims to promote initiatives and accomplishments relating to modernization and renovation of housing facilities, public buildings, historic buildings, industrial and engineering facilities; facilities of primary, secondary and higher education, cultural facilities, sports, health and recreation, and environmental facilities. During the ceremony at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, 15 "Modernization of the Year 2010" Titles and "Modernization of the Year 2010" Distinctions were awarded, as well as special prizes. The investment entered in the Competition were evaluated and awarded in the following categories: housing, health and social care, public, education, culture, sport and recreation, environmental and historical facilities. Furthermore, facades and thermal modernizations, revitalization of urban areas, facilities for roads and bridges, green areas, religious facilities, the most interesting interiors and industrial and engineering facilities were evaluated.
