On June 2nd this year representatives of the management boards of Polimex Mostostal S.A. and "Energoprojekt-Katowice" S.A. have signed a master agreement for preparation of a multi-branch design documentation and engineering services for a contract named 'Construction of two gas-steam units at PGE GiEK S.A. Dolna Odra Power Plant Group Branch."
Under the concluded agreeement, "Energoprojekt-Katowice" S.A. will perform a multi-branch design documentation and engineering services which include, among others: preparatory work, preparation of design documentation (basic design, construction design, preparation of requests for proposals for the WTD (technical conditions of deliveries) contractors, detail designs, subcontracting designs) and will act as general designer and perform a function of author's supervision.
"The construction of units at the Dolna Odra Power Plant is one of the most important and largest projects prepared by us, and above all it is yet another strategic investment on the energy map of Poland. We are pleased that the engineering design for this construction project will be prepared by a large reputable Polish company, proven during the implementation of other important energy projects. " - said Krzysztof Figat, President of the Management Board of Polimex Mostostal S.A.
"This is an important undertaking for Poland's energy security. It is crucial for the harmonious cooperation of renewable sources with conventional sources for dynamic power balancing. And for us, for EPK it is a huge order carried out for a strategic client," - said Łukasz Grela, president of the board of ENERGOPROJEKT-KATOWICE SA.
The Dolna Odra contract - construction on a turnkey basis of two gas-steam units (No. 9 and No. 10, complete assemblies of generating equipment and their auxiliary installations, as well as all other technological, mechanical, electrical, automation installations, together with their associated facilities construction) at PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna SA of the Dolna Odra Power Plant Group Branch was concluded on January 30th this year.
The project will be implemented by a Consortium, consisting of: General Electric Global Services GmbH with headquarters in Switzerland (as a consortium leader), General Electric International Inc. based in Delaware in the United States of America and Polimex Mostostal S.A. (as consortium partners).
